With the above principles in mind, read all the subject descriptions on your option choice sheets.  You also need to refer to the specific requirements for Year 11 students.

  Step 3:

Highlight or mark all possible subject choices as you read about them.  Make sure you satisfy any pre-requisites.

Step 4:

Discuss these pre-selections with your parents/guardians.

Seek advice if necessary from:

Careers coordinator

  ·   Deans

  Academic Dean

  ·    Subject teachers

 Heads of Department

  Step 6:

After careful thought and discussion, complete your subject selection sheet.

• How good are you at this subject?

• Add to your ability your interests. What do you enjoy doing?

• You may not know what work you would like to do. Don't worry.

• Go through the possible subjects listed on your handout.

• How easily do you understand it?

• Reasons for enjoyment might be because of the work, the teacher, or because you seem good at it.

• If you do know, or if you have ideas about what you might do, you can find out what subjects might be needed.

• Highlight or mark alongside each possibility, and investigate those subjects thoroughly.

• Your test marks and your work will help you estimate your ability.
