Course Description

Who is this subject intended for:
This course is designed for students who are interested in statistics or wish to gain skills that will support many other subjects such as Sciences or Social Science.

What you will learn in this subject:
Students will learn to solve problems related to Probability and understand how different distributions of data are modelled. Reports will be written after analysing data over time or from a large sample of data.

Where this subject will lead:
This subject prepares students to study Statistics at university. It will also support their work in other subjects where statistical methods are used.


Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

A network capable laptop or access to one. A selection of write on books (approx. $6 each).


Recommended Prior Learning What you need to be able to do and know to achieve in this subject: Students need to have a good understanding of level 2 mathematics. In particular they should have gained a range of Level 2 credits from the Statistics and Probability standards.
