Teacher in Charge: Mr E. Lindblom
Who is this subject intended for:
We are fortunate that we already speak English, a global language, but in a smart and competitive world, exclusive reliance on English leaves us vulnerable and dependent on others to translate language and interpret other cultures for us. Wouldn’t it be great if we could do that for ourselves! For anyone who wants to be a global citizen, this course will be your first step to learn about another language and culture.
What you will learn in this subject:
● Skills:
We build on the katakana reading skills from Year 9 to quickly acquire the hiragana reading skills necessary to understand our Japanese textbooks. Students will gain confidence and motivation as their vocabulary and cultural understanding increase.
● Content:
○ Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji
○ Personal Information
○ Myself and Friends
○ Out and About
○ Home and Family
○ Japanese Culture
Where this subject will lead:
Japanese Level 1
