This exciting course is designed to assist students to extend their knowledge and skills relevant to this subject area. This course is for students who have a keen interest for planning and preparing food.

○ Food and Service Groups in Our Community:

Where this subject will lead:
Gaining credits towards NCEA Level 1 and on towards gaining entry into Level 2 and 3 Food and Hospitality. This subject can lead to employment or a career in the Food or Hospitality industry.

Recommended Prior Learning What you need to be able to do and know to achieve in this subject: To achieve in this subject students need to have a basic range of skills and knowledge about food and cookery. The students need to be passionate about cooking as well as wanting to prepare appetising and nutritious food for themselves and others. Students also need to have good organisational skills.
