Students who are interested in a career in agriculture, or the primary industries.
What will you learn in this subject?
Aspects of pasture, crop production and soil management relevant to the agriculture industry.
Animal production including reproduction, anatomy, digestion and milk production.
Animal Welfare issues: diseases, ideal conditions, animal handling.
Bees, including the production of honey, roles within the hives and the anatomy of a bee.
Safety in the rural Industry.
Where will this subject lead?
Preparation for Level 1 and 2 Agriculture, with possible work placements over time.
What you need to be able to do and know to achieve in this subject:
You will need to be committed to both classroom and practical work and show a genuine interest in Agriculture.
