What you will learn in this subject:

This Year 9 course develops skills in the production and presentation of food. The nutritional value of food is also well investigated.

Skill / Content:
A wide range of units are on offer but include some of the following:
Food Safety and Efficient Practice
The Great Outdoors
Indigenous Foods of NZ
Pasta Perfect
Students will produce a range of pasta dishes and evaluate current products on the market


Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$10 Food Cap; $40 ingredients

Recommended Prior Learning

What you need to be able to do and know to achieve in this subject: To achieve in this subject students need to have a 'passion' for food and an inquiring mind to develop a wide range of skills in food preparation and presentation. This course allows students to become more organised and use their time wisely.
