Course Description

L2 Agriculture and Horticulture

This year long course is designed for students eager to deepen their skills in practical agriculture and horticulture.  With a focus on real-world applications.  Students will earn 20 Level 2 unit standard credits while engaging in diverse activities that extend their abilities in farming and horticulture.

Course content:

  • Chainsaw operation and safety courses
  • Small engine maintenance
  • Tractor use with PTO attachments
  • Fencing, both permanent and electric
  • Horticultural pruning and spraying techniques

Throughout the year, students will work on real farming and horticultural projects, building essential skills that are directly applicable to future careers in these industries.
